Kathryn Walters-Conte manages biotech students, cats, and rats.
Walters-Conte is the Director of Professional Sciences Masters in Biotechnology in the Office of the Dean, College of Arts and Sciences at American University. Which means that she makes sure the biotech graduate students are on track.
That’s different than the focus of her research on the molecular evolution of members of the cat family, and their archenemies, members of the rodent family.
Walters-Conte has a PhD in Systematics and Evolution, and an MS in Forensic Molecular Biology from The George Washington University, and a BS in Physiology and Neurobiology from The University of Maryland.
