Tamaria McAlpin has two bosses and one is the Federal Government.
In her post as an Environmental Engineer Senior, McAlpin works for one boss, the Alabama Department of Environmental Management (ADEM) and manages more than nine industrial facilities
Among them are wood preservation, paper manufacturing, metal forging, and hydrocarbon refining facilities, included under the Environmental Protection Agency’s Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, to be controlled to create a hazard-free environment.
Her other boss is the US Army Reserve. The Iraq War veteran, who has a MS Degree in Management from Faulkner University, has been a reserve officer since 2007. In 2012 she rose to the rank of Signal Officer, in support of Operation New Dawn and Enduring Freedom, and has served in Kuwait and Iraq’s Anbar Province.
McAlpin earned BS in Mechanical Engineering at historically-black Tuskegee University, which was recently named as having Alabama’s top online program.
