Pearlena Igbokwe has risen in entertainment for two decades.
In June 2016, Pearlena Igbokwe was promoted to President of Universal Television. It produces, or co-produces, primetime and late night series, and long-form, reality, and digital media projects for several networks and other television broadcast platforms.
Igbokwe, who was born in Nigeria, was NBC’s Executive Vice President of Drama Development, and oversaw the development of all those shows.
Before joining NBCUniversal in 2012, she had worked at Showtime Networks for 20 years and had developed the pilot, and all seasons, of the network’s most popular show, Dexter. She also developed the pilot of the Showtime series Masters of Sex and supervised the Emmy Award-winning and critically-acclaimed original series Nurse Jackie, and The Big C.
Igbokwe’s support was critical for the five-seasons of hit Showtime series Soul Food, which won two NAACP Image Awards for Best Drama Series.
Igbokwe received her MBA in Marketing and International Business degree from the Columbia University, and a BA in English from Yale University.
