Some Think Franken Mosquitoes More Dangerous Than Zika
Science News reports that Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health researchers have published a study reporting that people unworried by mosquito-borne diseases are more upset that some scientists want to introduce genetically-modified mosquitoes into the environment to destroy those with Zika.

The GMO mosquitoes are “bred to mate with wild females and produce offspring with a defective gene that kills them, thereby reducing the population of disease-carrying mosquitoes.”
