Convergence: Research to Transform Biomedicine
Science Daily reports that a new Massachusetts Institute of Technology study, Convergence: The Future of Health, “calls for increased support of ‘convergence research,’ which integrates physical and life sciences for revolutionary advances in biomedical research.”
Biomedicine (i.e. Medical biology) is a branch of medical science that applies biological and other natural-science principles to clinical practice.
Disciplines within biomedicine include Genomic Medicine, Neuroengineering, Novel Therapeutics, Gene Editing, Synthetic Biology, and Advanced Prosthetics.
The study was presented at the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine in Washington, D.C.
