Should I Be Searchin’ For My Lost Shaker of Salt?
ScienceDaily.com reports that researchers at McMaster University in Hamilton Canada, have released results of a global study of 130,000 people. The finding may delight junk food, and margarita, lovers and distress salt-adverse eaters.
The website says that the university’s Population Health Research Institute “suggests that the only people who need to worry about reducing sodium in their diet are those with hypertension (high blood pressure) and have high salt consumption.”
There is also a warning for those who avoid using too much salt. ScienceDaily.com reports that the study says that unless one has hypertension “that regardless of whether people have high blood pressure, low-sodium intake is associated with more heart attacks, strokes, and deaths compared to average intake.”
