Devin Gottschalk left a village of 600 to become an engineer in San Francisco.
Gottschalk was hired in 2012 by Webcor Builders, a San Francisco full service contractor, and later became an Assistant Superintendent. He has worked on Webcor projects including the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, a high-rise residential building, and the Apple ‘s Campus 2.
He grew up in a Naknek, a village in Alaska, which is home to Aleuts, Yup’ik Eskimos, Alutiiq and Athabascans. Gottschalk has worked in his home state as an AISES (American Indian Science and Engineering Society) professional member and professional mentor.
Previously, the holder of a cum laude BS Degree in Civil Engineering from Washington State University, worked at Glacier Construction Services rising from a laborer to an equipment operator to a superintendent.
