Edwin Ortega:PhD in Petroleum Engineering and Petrophysics.
The year Ortega received his doctorate, 2014, he was hired as a Petrophysicist by the oil giant, ConocoPhillips. It is a global energy company at work in 21 countries,
Perhaps recruiters saw a sizeable revenue return ahead for Conoco when they read Ortega’s thesis: Inversion-based petrophysical interpretation of multi-detector logging-while-drilling Sigma measurements.
Because a year after he was hired, Ortega was promoted to Senior Petrophysicist. He provides internal consultancy in nuclear logging, and evaluates both deep-offshore exploration projects in East Canada, and unconventional reservoirs.
Ortega earned both his PhD and MS Degrees in Petroleum Engineering and Petrophysics from the University of Texas at Austin. He was graduated as a Petroleum Engineer from Universidad de America in Bogota, Colombia.
