Will Understanding a Protein lead to Next-Generation HIV Drugs?
The Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), ScienceDaily.com reports has “used neutron analysis to better understand a protein implicated in the replication of HIV, the retrovirus that causes AIDS. The enzyme, known as HIV-1 protease, is a key drug target for HIV and AIDS therapies.”
The Oak Ridge National Laboratory is a US science and technology national laboratory managed for the United States Department of Energy by the University of Tennessee-Battelle.
