The 2016 Cyberjutsu Awards and Workshop
Women Cyber Security professionals from across the nation gather today, and tomorrow, for the annual Cyberjutsu Awards, and a cyber security workshop. The group’s host is the Women’s Society of Cyberjutsu (WSC) founded in 2012 by Lisa Foreman-Jiggetts.
The nonprofit’s mission is to “Advance women in Information Security by promoting networking, education, mentoring, resource-sharing, and opportunities.” Follow the WSC on Facebook, Twitter, and Linkedin.

Workshop: On August 13, WSC will host a workshop Introduction to Digital Forensics for those new to IT Security, women with some IT Security background, and for those seeking expert level courses.

WSC offers women:
- Workshops to link theory and/or limited hands-on learning.
- Cyber security training to show women security topics and technologies
- Events to meet women in the field, create connections, and share resources.
- Mentorship from women cyber security pros to assisting women to rise in or to enter the field.
- A Career Center for jobs in cyber and IT as certified cyber security professionals, and Volunteer Opportunities to work at WSC.
- Public Speaking guidance through its Toastmasters affiliation.
- Cyberjutsu Girls Academy: This program brings girls ages 12 – 15 together one weekend a month to learn about STEM-related topics with a focus on security. CGA starts in October and runs through June each year.

Lisa Foreman-Jiggetts is Founder, President, and CEO of WSC. She has worked as a government contractor in Penetration Testing, a Senior Information Assurance Engineer, and as an IT Security Assurance Engineer.

Foreman-Jiggetts has an MBA in Marketing from Strayer University, a BS in Information Technology from the University of Maryland University College, and an AAS in Information Technology from Lake Region State College, in North Dakota.
Her certifications include Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), EC-Council Certified Security Analyst (ECSA), Certified Ethical Hacker (C|EH), Security Certified Network Professional (SCNP), Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Senior Cyber Security Analyst (SCSA), Network+, A+.
She is co-author, with WSC’s Mari Galloway, of Three Ways to Keep Women in Tech.
Mari Galloway calls herself a Cyber Ninja. She is the WSC Director of Finance and Communications and works at the Department of Homeland Security as a Network Security Analyst..
Prior to this, she held similar posts at Aveshka, Inc., a Fairfax, VA. a computer security service firm, and General Dynamics.
She was a member of the all-women Cyberjutsu team that made it to the professional teams finals of the 2014 Maryland Cyber Challenge.
Galloway earned her MS in Cybersecurity Technology from the University of Maryland University College, an MS in Information Systems from Strayer University, and a BBA in Computer Information Systems at Columbus State University in Columbus, Georgia.
Cathy Hogendobler, WSC Director, is a specialist in Information Assurance and a Director at Lockheed Martin.
She is also Vice President of ISSA-NOVA, a non-profit, global organization of information security professionals and practitioners based in northern Virginia.
Hogendobler received both her MBA and her MS in Technology Management from the University of Maryland University College.
Tammy Torbert, a Principal Security Architect, Hewlett-Packard (HP) Enterprise Security, is also a Director at WSC.
Torbert, who has a BS in Information Technology from the University of Phoenix, has been with HP since it purchased her former employer, ArcSight.
